Open-ended and playful, with a glowing analogue ambience, the pair create a warm, enveloping vibe, a jazz-adjacent experiment that celebrates the studio as an instrument. All the controlled chaos is brilliantly offset by a clear sense of audio drama, such as on the liquid skies of ‘Above Clouds’ guitar chords chiming wonkily, while Nicole McCabe’s alto sweetly arcs skyward.
